It is not always going to be roses for Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Kyle Harrison, and on Monday, he surely had one of those ugly nights on the mound.

Pitching against the Athletics in a series opener at Las Vegas Ballpark in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is a Triple-A ballpark, the 24-year-old left-handed hurler was pummed by the A’s for eight runs on eight hits with three home runs in just 2.1 innings of work. Harrison recorded four strikeouts and, much more interestingly, did not absorb a pitching loss.

Thanks to Milwaukee’s incredible offense, Harrison ended up with a mere no-decision.

It was an offensive slugfest between Milwaukee and the A’s. A total of 11 home runs were hit in the contest to go along with 34 hits in 12 innings, with the Brewers coming out on top in a thrilling 15-14 victory.

After the game, Harrison hearkened back to his days in the minors.

Via Adam McCalvy of MLB.com:

“Playing at ballparks like this in the whole [Pacific Coast League], I’ve got a lot of experience at this,” said Brewers starter Kyle Harrison, who pitched here a handful of times while he was in the Giants’ system. “Knowing how these games usually go, I haven’t seen anything like this. Credit to this team. Credit to the guys.”

Offense was the real star of the night for both Milwaukee and the A’s, and it resulted in an incredibly wild ending. Milwaukee built a four-run lead in the top of the 10th inning but the Athletics responded by cobbling together four runs with two outs in the bottom of the frame.

But it was Milwaukee that ultimately escaped with the victory, with Brice Turang plating Christian Yelich on a fielder’s choice in the top of the 12th inning.

Harrison’s ERA rose from 1.57 to 2.72 following his start versus the A’s.
