Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach shared a statement following the landmark deal extension for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

"Patrick has grown into one of the most prolific quarterbacks to ever play the game, and to add to that, he's changed the culture of our building and has led us in the most successful era in our franchise's history. Beyond the game, he's an incredible person who puts his team and winning above everything else," Veach wrote. "For Patrick, we know he's more motivated than ever to get back out there and lead us," he added. "I'm happy for him and his family, and excited for our future together."

Mahomes' deal is worth $239.05 million with the total value now at $504.75 million from 2026-33. The first four years will be guaranteed at signing, with all $504.75 million becoming guaranteed through contract mechanisms. He can earn up to $522.25 through season incentives and escalators. In 2027, the new money begins with the deal averaging $64 million per year.

Veach recently expressed a strong desire to continue building around Mahomes throughout his entire playing career. He made a declarative statement to the rest of the league that Mahomes will remain the franchise quarterback for years to come.
