The Jets agreed to terms on a three year contract with Breece Hall last week. The running back addressed the media about his new contract and made the case that he’s on the verge of a career year.

#Jets RB Breece Hall explains why he’s only going to get better:

"I'm the only RB that's consistently a top 10 back in the league that hasn't in the past been in the most ideal situation. … I feel like now they really put me in position to flourish… This could be my best… https://t.co/DdkCmzd2kYpic.twitter.com/ZP2HzRirhZ

Hall has been a very good player thus far in his career. I personally think it’s tough for him to make the case that he has been a top ten back. Maybe he looked like one in the early stages of his 2022 rookie season, but his campaign was cut short by a knee injury.

I think there is a fair case to be made that Breece hasn’t been used in a way that gets the most out of his skills, however. The Jets have seemed to view him as a volume runner. The Jets have mostly used Breece on zone concepts through his career, which require the running back to make a read and time hitting the hole. Those aren’t his strengths.

Breece has his payday. Now we will see whether new offensive coordinator Frank Reich can put him in a position to make the most of his ability.
