The history of Penn State linebackers is a strong one, and the Vikings are hoping they got one who could add their name to the list when his career is over.

The Vikings took Nittany Lion linebacker Kobe King in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday. The Vikings had some linebacker depth issues in 2024 when Blake Cashman went down for two games. It was ironically the only two regular-season games the team lost that season, and it seemed that Ivan Pace Jr. struggled as the lone player to be relied upon. Brian Asamoah is still there, but the arrival of Kobe King will help the group as a whole.

King was seen as a fourth or fifth-round player, so the Vikings getting him in the sixth makes him a value for the team, so another good pick for the Vikings and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.

King will have a chance to compete for reps with Asamoah and Pace Jr., but he is likely to start his career on special teams. Brian Flores has shown that he can find roles for everyone, and Kobe King should be no different. Good pick here for the Vikings.
