William “Wild Bill” Contreras delivered with another clutch hit on Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee, launching a three-run walk-off homer in the Brewers’ 3-1 win over the Marlins to secure a sweep coming out of the All-Star break.
Contreras, who is hitting .280/.346/.405 with 10 homers, 14 doubles, 57 RBIs, and 49 runs over 92 games this season, earned his third All-Star selection this year, and he’s continued to have his share of key moments at the plate.
After having Cubs’ manager Craig Counsell call the bullpen last October, he launched a go-ahead moonshot against the A’s in Las Vegas back in June. Now, he threw a bat about 100 feet into the air as he gave the Brewers their third straight win and second walk-off victory in three days.
