The Atlanta Braves' lineup and outfield will be getting a boost of energy moving forward, as outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. returns. According to a team announcement on X, the Braves, ahead of their four-game series with the Miami Marlins, reinstated Acuna Jr. to the active roster.

Acuna Jr. has been on the injured list with a left hamstring strain since May 3.

Sadly, to make a spot for Acuna Jr. to return, infielder Kyle Farmer was placed on the 10-day injured list (backdated to May 16) with a right forearm strain. Farmer has seen limited action with the Braves this season (10 games) and has not had a hit since April 30 against the Detroit Tigers.

The Atlanta Braves getting Ronald Acuna Jr. back will help them moving forward

Before landing on the injured list, Acuna Jr. was starting to put together better at-bats, hitting .320 with a .845 OPS in his last seven games. Getting the five-time All-Star back will also allow outfielder Mike Yastrzemski to slide back over to left field and his platoon role.

Yastrzemski has stepped up for the Braves while Acuna Jr. has been absent, hitting .294 with a .880 OPS and two home runs in 34 at-bats this month. The Braves will need to be cautious with Acuna Jr.'s usage, as he is not the same player he once was after having knee surgery on both knees.

Even though the former MVP (2023) won't wreak havoc on the basepaths, he still has power in his bat -- Acuna Jr. is three seasons removed from when he hit 41 home runs in a season -- which will lengthen manager Walt Weiss already deep lineup.

Acuna Jr. is not in the lineup for Monday night's game versus the Marlins, but should be moving forward.

First baseman Matt Olson (.276 batting average, .945 OPS) and catcher Drake Baldwin (.301/.928) have been the two best hitters in the Braves lineup. So, getting another big bat back, such as Acuna Jr.'s, will only further help the Braves dominate the National League -- the Braves have the best record in Major League Baseball, at 32-15.
