Austin Krell: To recap the points of Stevens' presser: - the decision was driven by perceived salary sheet constraints, and the draft capital justified the concept of essentially swapping out salaries - the Celtics still think PG is really good and like that he was comfortable in a complimentary role (read this however you like) - had a team out west offered the same package, they probably would've accepted that over the Sixers' offer - Brad Stevens admitted he could be wrong about this deal, but that it allowed flexibility + kept them competitive in the short term
