Things went about as well as anyone might have hoped in the return of Jayson Tatum to the Boston Celtics in the team's 120-100 win over the visiting Dallas Mavericks on Friday (March 6) night. But in that win, the Celtics also lost new big man Nikola Vucevic to a broken finger, and Boston's front office has circulated a release updating us on the status of the Montenegrin big man.

Per the Celtics, Vucevic has had "successful ORIF surgery to stabilize a fracture in his right ring finger," with the team also reporting that the "surgery was performed at New England Baptist Hospital by Dr. Herve Kimball" and was "assisted by Celtics Team Physician Dr. Tony Schena."

The Celtics also share that Vooch will be reevaluated in three to four weeks, with further updates on the former Chicago Bulls big man to be shared as they develop.

This news would put a potential return for Vucevic in the first days of April, giving him at least a handful of games to get his rhythm back with Boston before the arrival of the postseason in the middle of the month.
