After eliminating the Orlando Magic in five games, the Boston Celtics are getting some much-needed rest ahead of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Joe Mazzulla's team is still waiting to find out who their opponent will be for the second round, with the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons set for game six on Thursday, May 1.

Despite their push for back-to-back championships still being alive, discussions surrounding the future of Boston's core rotation persist. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Celtics are expected to be active in the trade market this summer. Boston is a second-apron luxury tac team. Any potential moves they make will likely be to duck below the second apron while still remaining competitive.

"I can tell you the rest of the league is bracing for some level of change to come to the Celtics," Charania said during a May 1 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. "Sources have been telling me for weeks now that the Celtics will be exploring trades options in the offseason."

Any talk of roster moves is premature where the Celtics are concerned. It's hard to envision Brad Stevens breaking up the current core if they win another championship. Of course, if Boston falls short, Stevens wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't look for ways to improve the team while also lowering its luxury tax obligations.

So, while Charania's reporting cannot be dismissed, any talk of trades or roster moves needs to be put on hold. Boston is fighting for another championship, and right now, that goal takes precedence over anything that may or may not occur during the summer.
