Hagens is a 19-year-old from Hauppauge, NY. He was drafted in the top-10 of the 2025 NHL Draft after scoring 37 points in 37 games for the Boston College Eagles as a true freshman.
After being drafted, he returned to Chestnut Hill for his sophomore season. Hagens played even better as a sophomore, recording 47 points on 23 goals and 24 assists in just 34 games.
His efforts in the NCAA earned him an AHL contract. He joined the Providence Bruins in late March and made his debut on March 25. Now, just 14 days later, he has signed a three-year entry-level deal with Boston.
While playing for the P-Bruins, he scored in his second career professional game. Hagens registered an assist in three of the four games following and quickly earned the call-up to the big leagues.
The forward is expected to join the team immediately, amidst their late-season four-game skid. He will have plenty of time to get acclimated as the Bruins are not back in action again until Saturday, April 11, against the first-place Tampa Bay Lightning.
