Bobby Hurley will be looking for a new job after this season, On3 reported on Monday.
“Arizona State is expected to part ways with Bobby Hurley after the season, source told @TheFieldOf68,” Goodman said via X. “Hurley’s contract expires on June 30. Hurley is 184-166 and went to 3 NCAA tournaments with the Sun Devils.”
The Duke legend has been the head coach at Arizona State since 2015, but recent struggles, including a 16-15 record (7-11 in Big 12 play) this season, have led to his ouster in Tempe.
During his 10-year tenure in charge of the Sun Devils, Hurley led Arizona State to three NCAA Tournament appearances, but never got past the first round, losing in the Round of 64 twice (2019, 2023) and dropping in the First Four in Dayton in 2018.
The move from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 didn’t go well for Hurley, as the Sun Devils finished 13-20 last year (4-16 in conference play) in their first year after switching conferences.
More recently, Hurley has been known more for his blowups at officials than leading his team to victories, making the news on Monday not a huge surprise.
The Sun Devils play Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament tomorrow.
