Bobby Bowden’s longtime Tallahassee home is returning to the market.
Florida State alumnus and Tallahassee resident Reagan Hobbs, who purchased the Killearn Estates property during the real estate portion of the Bobby Bowden Legacy Auction last March, has decided to sell.
Hobbs submitted a winning bid of $670,000, with a final purchase price of $737,000 after a 10% buyer’s premium, and confirmed his plans to the Tallahassee Democrat on Tuesday, June 3.
Bowden, who coached FSU for 34 seasons, and his wife Ann bought the home in January 1976 for $113,500 after his arrival from West Virginia. He lived there until his death in 2021 at age 91.
Ann Bowden, who turned 93 in September 2025, has since moved to Alabama to live with family.
Hobbs, a 1995 FSU graduate and local real estate agent, said he personally called Bowden’s daughter, Ginger, on Tuesday to inform her of his decision. While the property’s future remains uncertain, Hobbs had considered refurbishing and updating the home, potentially converting it into an Airbnb destination for FSU football weekends.
It's unclear what the asking price will be for the home.
Built in 1971, the 4,639-square-foot residence features four bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms in a New Traditional French style. It sits on a 0.57-acre lot along the private, recently renovated Killearn Club golf course.
The two-week auction, managed by Wiregrass Auction Group of Thomasville, Georgia, concluded March 18. By the close of bidding, nearly 1,925 registered bidders had placed more than 33,000 bids across 1,568 items, with only seven lots going without a bid.
