The Toronto Blue Jays have hit their first major slump of the season, as they're 3-7 in their last 10 games and lost by a combined score of 16-3 in Sunday's doubleheader against the New York Yankees.

Toronto (13-15) is 18th in MLB with a .240 team batting average and is 29th with 15 home runs. The pitching hasn't been much better, as the team is 16th with a 4.06 ERA and tied for second with 37 homers allowed.

The Blue Jays must hit for more power to make up ground in the AL East, as the Yankees (17-12) are second in baseball with 45 homers, while the Boston Red Sox are 10th with 33. Toronto is in fourth place, 3.5 games behind New York and two behind Boston.

However, the club announced a move on Tuesday that could give the lineup a much-needed boost, via social media.

"ROSTER MOVES: OF Daulton Varsho reinstated from the 10-day IL and will be active for tonight's game," the team said. "RHP Casey Lawrence has reported to the team and will be active for tonight's game. RHP Paxton Schultz and INF Will Wagner optioned to Triple-A."

Varsho has yet to play in the regular season after getting right rotator cuff surgery in September. The 28-year-old hit .276 with four homers as a designated hitter in the spring.
