The Oregon Ducks may have a tough time replicating their success they had in the 2024-25 season.
A team that went undefeated in the regular season, the Ducks were the No. 1 seed in the new-look College Football Playoff.
Considering it was Oregon's first year as part of the Big Ten Conference, fans couldn't have asked for much more.
It also amplifies the rivalry the Ducks already had with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Ducks' national championship hopes were dashed by the Buckeyes back in 2014.
They narrowly edged out the Buckeyes in a regular-season meeting in Eugene. However, the Buckeyes won the all-important rematch in the College Football Playoff before going on to win the National Championship.
Things won't get easier in 2025, as the Ducks will have to replace 10 players who were just drafted into the NFL.
The 10 players drafted set an Oregon Ducks record for most in a single draft.
While the Ducks look to keep up their winning ways next season, planning for the future beyond next year is already underway.
The Ducks got unfortunate news when it was announced that cornerback Havon Finney Jr. committed to Louisiana State University over the Ducks. He was also considering the University of Southern California.
Finney Jr. was originally in the class of 2027, but reclassified to 2026.
The Ducks likely were intrigued by his size. He's a big corner, standing at 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds.
The Ducks currently have the No. 18 ranked class in 2026.
While plenty of players remain undecided in the class, Dan Lanning will likely have to continue to work his magic to continue to bolster the recruiting class, especially now that he has to contend with other Big Ten schools for the same recruits.
