After cutting down the nets during March Madness, the next step for Florida Gators forward Thomas Haugh is to weigh his options about turning pro.
Haugh helped lead the Gators to an improbable comeback victory over the Houston Cougars in San Antonio. The 21-year-old forward should next shift his focus on whether or not he should decide to test the waters of the 2025 NBA Draft.
It is worth noting that since 1976, every March Madness title winner has had at least one player selected top-30 on its roster. As of right now, it is most likely that Walter Clayton Jr. and Alex Condon are the top candidates from the Gators to earn that consideration.
More: Is Walter Clayton Jr. an NBA Draft first-round pick after his incredible March Madness?
According to Rookie Scale's latest consensus big board, Florida's Haugh did not crack the top-60.
But here is what Jonathan Wasserman said about Haugh, who he projected at No. 35 overall to the Philadelphia 76ers (via Bleacher Report):
"Thomas Haugh had a strong NCAA tournament, contributing to Florida's run with his shooting, dribble threat, passing and defensive playmaking.
NBA scouts remain intrigued by his skill set and fit of a 6'9" forward that can hit threes, attack closeouts and bring some toughness. They're also still debating if he stays or goes and where he deserves to stack up in the 2025 class.
Performance and feedback at the NBA combine will likely play a big role in Haugh's decision and stock."
Haugh is only a sophomore and could decide to return to Florida for a chance to defend his championship.
Haugh had a game-high plus-minus (13) during the NCAA men's basketball national championship, per Evan Miya.
He does an excellent job of drawing fouls, his jump shot is efficient and he has good size for his position. Many fans noticed that a lot of what he does could translate well to the pros.

Thomas Haugh has NBA written all over him. Length, skill, size.

I love Thomas Haugh's game. Not an aspect of the game he isnt a net positive in, so versatile on both ends.
Feels like a huge breakout candidate for next season & for sure a future NBA guy
