Early June is primetime for NFL teams to announce promotions within their front office and scouting staff, with the NFL Draft more than a month in the rearview mirror.

On Thursday, the Buffalo Bills have announced four promotions within the scouting department.

On these promotions:

  • Alonzo Dotson is a former Oklahoma Sooners defensive linemen. After college, he spent four years as an Area Scout for the Green Bay Packers, from 2013 to 2016 before a four-year stint as an Area Scout with the New York Jets from 2018 to 2021. Dotson joined the Bills in 2022 as a College National Scout.
  • Tyler Pratt began his professional career as broadcast intern with the Bills in 2016 before time spent as a Player Personnel/Team Operations Intern. After a season as an Assistant Defensive Backs Coach at his alma mater, Kutztown State, Pratt has methodically climbed his way up Buffalo’s scouting latter. In 2018, he was a Player Personnel Coordinator before being named as a West Coast Area Scout from 2021 to 2022. He scouted the southeast part of the country for the Bills from June 2022 through the 2026 draft.
  • Kellyn Gerenstein made stops at Ohio State — his alma mater — as a Recruiting Intern and with the San Francisco 49ers as a Scouting Intern before being hired by the Bills in August 2024 as a Scouting Assistant
  • Gardner Temkin worked outside of football for a few years before returning to his alma mater, Wake Forest, where he worked in the athletics department for nearly four years. He was the Director of Player Personnel at Austin Peay before being hired by the Bills as a Scouting Assistant last May.
