Bills and Raiders trade proposal would send one of Josh Allen’s weapons to Fernando Mendoza originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
There are seemingly a few guys around the NFL who just need a change of scenery. We see that a lot in professional sports, especially among young guys who either haven't gotten enough opportunities or haven't done enough with the ones they were given.
Unfortunately for Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keyon Coleman, he's someone who hasn't done enough with the opportunities he was given. The Bills are still seemingly hopeful that Coleman can eventually become a decent player, though that doesn't seem very likely in Buffalo anymore.
In a recent trade idea, the Las Vegas Raiders would benefit heavily from taking a chance on him, as they wouldn't have to give up much to Buffalo for his services.
Las Vegas Raiders Receive: Coleman
Buffalo Bills Receive: 2026 Sixth Round Pick
“The Raiders' current starting receivers are projected to be Jalen Nailor, Tre Tucker, and Jack Bech. Those are their three best receivers. There is certainly room for Coleman to carve out a role on that depth chart. He has enough upside that he's worth making this low-risk trade,” Mark Morales-Smith of SI wrote.
The Raiders are expected to add Fernando Mendoza to their quarterback room at during the NFL draft. Having the current wide receiver core in place for Mendoza wouldn't be ideal, so while Coleman hasn't shown much, it certainly worked to take a risk on someone of his former caliber.
