On Tuesday, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan held their predraft press conference and talked about the upcoming 2025 NFL draft. They obviously didn't reveal much in the way of pertinent information related to who the Steelers are targeting in the first round but there was still plenty to take away from the presser.
Khan let it be known that GMs talk ahead of the draft to feel each other out about who a team might want and their interest in trading up or down. Things can change on draft night but Khan definitely made it sound like they have a pretty good idea who other teams want to draft.
Tomlin made it clear that the Steelers plan at quarterback in the draft will not change based on anything Aaron Rodgers does or does not do.
This one hurt a little. We've been lobbying for the Steelers to add a nose tackle in the draft but Tomlin burst our bubble when he said the nose position is going away the way of the fullback.
Tomlin heavily downplayed the Steelers Top-30 visit with Shedeur Sanders and that was clearly by design. It feels like the Steelers want Sanders to slide to them but wouldn't rule out a trade up if necessary.
Pittsburgh's lack of a second round pick makes depth at positions like running back and defensive tackle important and the Steelers have put a lot of energy into them predraft. Khan praised the depth at both spots.

The nose tackle position is dying

Not tipping their hand on Sanders
