The Pittsburgh Steelers have eight picks in the first five rounds of the 2026 NFL draft. This type of draft capital means there's a real chance the Steelers trade up, perhaps on Day Two but in the new five-round mock draft on NFL Network, they make all the picks and we have some thoughts.

First round - OT Blake Miller - Clemson

I only have 17 players with a first-round grade and there's no way Miller is among them. There's no way, if I'm GM Omar Khan, I'm taking the sixth-best offensive tackle in the draft here. Not with wide receivers Makai Lemon or Jordyn Tyson on the board. In fact, I'm not taking Miller over Utah offensive tackle Caleb Lomu.

Second round - WR Zachariah Branch - Georgia

There's no denying Branch is an exciting player even if he's going to remind fans an awful lot of other receivers this team has or have had in the past who didn't pan out. If the Steelers get the first round right and draft a receiver there, this pick is better used on another position.

Third round - QB Carson Beck - Miami

Fans are pretty divided on whether the Steelers should draft a quarterback at all so plenty will hate this pick. Beck was much better in 2025 than his critics give him credit for but an underwhelming CFB performance is fresh in team's minds.

Third round - LB Harold Perkins Jr. - LSU

The Steelers have shown an interest in Perkins, which means if they could get him, it's a real possibility. A pick like this could mean the team plans to move on from either Patrick Queen or Malik Harrison.

Third round - S Bud Clark - TCU

Clark is an incredibly unremarkable player and not a guy who roll the dice on in the Top 100 picks. The Steelers added two safeties in free agency and have their starters in place. Meanwhile, Washington cornerback Tacario Davis is still on the board and represents not only a better value but better talent at a position of higher need.

Fourth round - TE Martin Klein - Michigan

Klein is raw with only 12 career starts but he's got enough athleticism and strength to be worth a shot. He's not going to break off big catches but is a strong blocker and can move the chains in the passing game.

Fourth round - G DJ Campbell - Texas

Campbell is very much a project player and has a long way to go if he wants to be an NFL starter but is a nice developmental guy at a position of need. Give me massive Miami tackle Markell Bell here and potentially kick Troy Fautanu into guard.

Fifth round - CB Devin Moore - Florida

Moore, like Campbell, is a raw prospect and far from a finished prospect. Moore's play speed is worrisome and despite his size might be a better fit on the inside. For us, North Dakota State quarterback Cole Payton is the easy choice here and a much better risk/reward option on Day Three.
