As the summer rolls along in Ocean City, more and more big fishing tournaments take place, bringing boats and anglers to Maryland's Eastern Shore. And this weekend will see another, as the Huk Big Fish Classic kicks off on Friday.
The Huk Big Fish Classic will take place from July 24-26, with its competitors searching for the fish catches that will net them cash prizes when the tournament wraps up. Entering its 13th year as a tournament, the Big Fish Classic has become one of the big tournaments to look forward to each summer.
The tournament's scales are set to be open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. The fish will be weighed at the Talbot Street Pier at 311 Talbot Street in Ocean City.
Here are the necessary requirements for qualifying fish:
The 2025 Huk Big Fish Classic set a tournament record with its $1.256 million purse last year. This year's set of competitors will be hoping to walk away with a piece when the 2026 edition ends, courtesy of whatever big catches they reel in this weekend.

- Blue Marlin - 104 inches
- Swordfish min. - 58 inches
- Sailfish min. - 60 pounds
- Tuna min. - 35 pounds

- Dolphin/All other qualifying species min. - 15 pounds
