Although he remains one of the most controversial players in the NBA, it's hard to deny the vim and vigor that Draymond Green possesses. The Golden State Warriors' 35-year-old forward has made a name for himself, for better or worse, as one of the most intense players in the league, and the results speak for themselves.
The four-time NBA champion and four-time NBA All-Defensive First Team standout added to his credentials on Friday after bringing home the 2024-25 NBA Hustle Award.
According to NBA Communications, "the award honors a player who makes the effort plays that do not often appear in the box score but help determine team success."
Previous winners of the award include Alex Caruso, Thaddeus Young and Marcus Smart, who has won it three times since the 2018-19 season.
In the NBA's write-up about Green winning the Hustle Award, they describe the veteran as "one of the most versatile defenders in the game" and how "Green ranked in the top 15 in five categories and became the first winner in the award’s history to rank in the top 40 in all nine hustle categories used to determine the winner."
In 68 games played this season, Green averaged 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game. Never known for his offensive prowess, Green contributes in ways that don't often show up in the box score.
The 6-foot-6, 230-pound star has played his entire career with the Warriors. A second-round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Green was the Big Ten Male Athlete and Player of the Year coming out of college.

In 2017, he won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, solidifying his reputation as a hard-nosed defender.
It is awards season in the NBA, and the league has already handed out several other trophies.
Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Green for the Defensive Player of the Year award. Mobley beat out Green and Dyson Daniels, the other two finalists.
The Warriors are competing in the first round of the NBA playoffs, and the series against the Houston Rockets is tied 1-1. Golden State is on the road and will play Houston in Game 3 on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
