The Aaron Rodgers to the New Orleans Saints rumors began to swirl after news broke of Derek Carr's potential season-ending shoulder injury — and while insider Ian Rapoport believes the Pittsburgh Steelers are the best fit, one legendary QB isn't so sure.

According to former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, the Saints are a realistic landing spot for Rodgers in 2025. On the most recent episode of his podcast, Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger, the former Black and Gold signal-caller touched on Carr's injury and why it could spell the end of a Rodgers-Steelers signing:

“We learned that Derek Carr has a shoulder injury and may miss the whole season. I'm not going to confirm or deny that's the quarterback I was talking about, but it's kind of unique. That's a new door that's opened up in the [Rodgers saga]. Everyone was talking about, ‘it's Minnesota, Minnesota,’ we thought that door kind of closed — it's Pittsburgh, it's retirement — it's maybe wait till the season gets going when you lose a potential quarterback on a team that is a contender. Then it's up to Aaron — do they want Aaron? Would Aaron want to go there? There's still a lot of questions, but it's still interesting that that is there.”

It appears Big Ben saw this coming from a mile away — as did Rodgers, who now potentially has more than just Pittsburgh or retirement in his 2025 plans.
