The fireworks that flew through the night sky in Bryan-College Station following Texas A&M's 11-9 win over Mississippi State were a perfect depiction of Friday night's contest between the two SEC juggernauts.
Michael Earley's club bounced back after an 18-11 loss in the series opener by recording 15 hits, including three home runs, and 11 RBIs against one of the top pitching staffs in the conference. It was led by outfielder Caden Sorrell, who recorded six RBIs and was one single shy of hitting for the cycle. Sorrell, Gavin Grahovac and Blake Binderup all secured home runs in the contest, while the Aggies' pitching woes continued.
Aiden Sims has been Texas A&M's Game 2 starter, but he was absent from the weekend rotation due to tightness. That meant Weston Moss got the start on Friday, as he secured four strikeouts and allowed three earned runs on four hits across two innings. Shane Sdao entered the game to replace Moss, striking out three and allowing five runs on six hits, before Clayton Freshcorn closed things out with an impressive five strikeouts and just two hits allowed in the win.
The Aggies return to Blue Bell Park tomorrow with an opportunity to take the series over Mississippi State. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT and the contest will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.

Texas A&M allowed nine runs, but still a solid performance in certain aspects
It's an important 17th SEC win as regional baseball *should* be coming to BBP in two weeks time.
Freshcorn gets his 12th save, a three-inning masterpiece. Sorrell was a single shy of the cycle with 6 RBI in a highly offensive game.
Exhale. There's a rubber match in the morning. https://t.co/IWcwHJwlQL

Every pitcher will be available for Texas A&M to use in Game 3
Texas A&M coach Michael Earley said every pitcher will be available for the rubber match vs. Mississippi State tomorrow but doesn’t know yet who will start. Star closer Clayton Freshcorn, who threw 52 pitches over three innings tonight, emphatically said he will be ready to go.

Gritty win, but the pitching woes continued
I thought it was already done but with that win there will 100% be post season baseball in College Station. Gritty win
Also if you are a current A&M student with at least JV HS pitching experience please show up at 11 tomorrow you will be needed https://t.co/e0QEdvKniA

The offense continues to slug away
Another sensational night for the Texas A&M offense propels the Aggies to a series-evening win which should lock up at least one round of postseason baseball at Blue Bell Park.
A victory tomorrow morning would go a long way in securing a Top 8 seed.

Massive series finale coming tomorrow
Caden Sorrell had a double, triple and a home run, along with six RBIs in @AggieBaseball's 11-9 win over Mississippi State to even that series. Clayton Freshcorn punched out five in 3 shutout out of the pen.
That series finale is beyond massive for both teams.
