Need your guidance, O Readers -- please tell me the one or two books -- I'm thinking novels, but doesn't have to be -- that you really think of as having the best physical action or suspense-to-action passages or chapters. Can be mano-a-mano, chase scenes, recon/hunt, escape scenes, technical, primitive, whatever. I'm not looking for the bloodiest or gross horror-story type suspense or a whodunit as much as actual process of manhunt, action-thriller, crime, military, espionage type sections.
Thanks

The ending of "Lord of Chaos" book 6 in the "Wheel of Time" series is one of the most fanatastic battle scenes I've ever read.

The opening battle in Starship Troopers (and not the movie!).

Matthew Reilly is one of the best action/suspense writers I have read. Can't go wrong with Robert Ludlum books either
