Berks Catholic drained eleven 3-pointers and cruised to a 68-47 boys victory over Reading High on Saturday, giving the Saints the BCIAA Division 1 regular season title and securing them the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Berks Catholic (17-2, 10-1 Division 1) has a two-game lead over Reading High (15-6, 8-3) and Muhlenberg (7-5, 7-3) in the division standings with one game to play — Daniel Boone on Tuesday.

Oye Guilavogui led the barrage for the Saints, hitting four 3-pointers. He finished with 16 points.

Kingston McKoy led all scorers with 22 points, making two 3-pointers and all eight of his free throw attempts.

Gavin Welker (14 points) made three 3-pointers, and Brady Altimar and Johnny Giesa made the other 3-pointers for Berks Catholic.

The Saints led 15-8 after the first quarter as Guilavogui made two 3-pointers and McKoy one.

The Saints broke the game open in the second quarter, taking a 32-18 lead in the locker room at halftime. Giesa led the way with 6 points.

Less than 24 hours after beating Wilson in overtime, 55-51, on Friday night, Reading trailed 45-30 heading in the last quarter.

For the Red Knights, Jay Merriweather scored 11 points.

The BCIAA quarterfinals are scheduled for Monday, Feb. 9 at the site of the higher seed. The semifinals will be Wednesday, Feb. 11 and the finals Friday, Feb. 13, both at Santander Arena in Reading.

Berks Catholic last won a BCIAA tournament title in 2018. Wilson, which will finish fourth in Division 1 but make the tournament, is the defending champion.

Manheim Township 66, Exeter 61

Yianni Papadimitriou scored 14 points to lead Manheim Township to a 66-61 non-league win over Exeter on Saturday.

For the Eagles (13-8), Jayden Ware scored 20 points and Dylan Donate had 16. Exeter has clinched the BCIAA Division 2 regular season title to qualify for the BCIAA tournament.

Kennett 71, Twin Valley 58

Aiden Talbert scored 23 points to lead Kennett to a 71-58 non-league win over Twin Valley on Saturday.

For the Raiders (2-17), Carter Schmidt had 24 points.
