The Cincinnati Bengals put out some unexpected news just before the 2025 NFL draft that could have some big implications on how they approach that process.

As it turns out, fans can stop discounting the return of running back Zack Moss next season. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that Moss agreed to a contract restructure with the Bengals for "guaranteed money and security" next year.

Barring something shocking, that likely means Moss will be back in the same backfield as Chase Brown and Samaje Perine next year.

Moss suffered a neck injury last year that caused the team to scramble and make a rare in-season trade. By the end of the season, Bengals coaches still sounded uncertain about his medical status going into 2025.

Given the presence of Perine alongside Moss, it largely rules out any ideas about the Bengals taking a big swing at the position before Day 3. Maybe a running back tops their board at some point over the first two days, but three capable backs and a late-rounder or undrafted free agent now feels like the likelier move.
