Following the surprising retirement of center Drew Dalman, the Chicago Bears moved quickly to acquire another veteran in his place, acquiring former New England Patriots center Garrett Bradbury in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick.

Having spent his first six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Bradbury played one year for New England, serving as the center for quarterback Drake Maye as the Patriots made it all the way to the Super Bowl, where they came up short against the Seattle Seahawks.

On Thursday, Bradbury met with the media and spoke about his initial interaction with his new quarterback Caleb Williams. Bradbury said that he's already spent time meeting with the Bears quarterback, which reaffirmed all of what he had heard about Williams.

"I’ve heard great things about him, and that reaffirmed everything that I’ve heard," Bradbury said, via Chris Emma. "He’s an awesome guy, he’s obviously an awesome player, so I’m looking forward to getting to work with him and helping him any way I can and learning from him as well."

After being sacked 68 times in his rookie season, Williams saw a huge turnaround in his second year, thanks to a revamped offensive line, being sacked just 24 times in the 2025 season. Dalman was part of several moves made to the line last year, along with the acquisitions of Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney, so now Bradbury will have work quickly to get acclimated with both his new quarterback and his new line teammates.

Chicago began building something strong last season, and they'll need Bradbury to continue that progression at center to ensure the offensive line doesn't miss a beat in 2026.
