Last week, it was reported that Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson wasn’t in attendance for the early voluntary Phase of workouts at Halas Hall. This isn’t anything new for Johnson, as he regularly spends the offseason working out at home while spending time with family, but once the mandatory portion of the offseason came around, he made the trek to Lake Forrest.

However, yesterday, a keen eye would have spotted Johnson’s #1 practice jersey in the background of a Coby Bryant video shared to the Bears’ socials, and today, head coach Ben Johnson confirmed that Jaylon is at Halas Hall.

“I appreciate him being here now with his teammates and getting to know them,” Ben said about Jaylon’s attendance at this voluntary portion of the offseason. “We have a lot of new faces in the building.”

Also spotted in that Bryant clip yesterday was nickelback Kyler Gordon (#6), who had been out due to injury, and today, with the media present at Halas Hall, it was reported that Gordon is indeed on the field. He didn’t participate in team drills, but considering it’s May 28, there’s plenty of time to get himself ramped up.

Also sitting out of team drills were starting right guard Jonah Jackson and reserve offensive lineman Jedrick Wills.

Several beat reporters shared that Montez Sweat was the only notable non-injured absence from the OTA on Thursday.
