After a premature and disappointing ending to his first World Cup due to injury, Bayern Munich star Lennart Karl is making progress in his recovery.
Karl began testing his hamstring with more strenuous activity by stepping up his individual program, but ensuring that he is not risking a setback:
A month on from the hamstring injury that saw his withdrawal from Germany’s World Cup squad in Canada, Mexico and the USA, Lennart Karl has resumed running after the 18-year-old completed laps around Bayern’s training ground at Säbener Straße on Wednesday morning.
Karl will continue his individual recovery programme in Munich over the coming weeks as he aims to resume full training with Vincent Kompany’s squad during pre-season. “It’ll take some time before I can join the sessions with the guys. Now it’s about not overdoing it,” the forward recently told fcbayern.com.
Karl’s role this season could be important as Bayern Munich’s World Cup contingent has racked up some serious mileage and could need more downtime than usual.
