Bayern Munich confirm surprise signing of Gambian attacker, Jonah Kusi-Asare to be recalled from Fulham early?

FC Bayern Munich have confirmed a surprise January arrival in the form of Gambian attacker Bara Sapoko Ndiaye. There are also whispers that Jonah Kusi-Asare will be recalled from his Fulham loan stint early. The Bundesliga league leaders – who seem destined for a relatively quiet January transfer window – are suddenly springing into action.

What are the details surrounding Bara Sapoko Ndiaye?

Bayern kept matters terse in a brief press release confirming the 18-year-old’s arrival on a six-month-loan arrangement. Ndiaye joins the record champions from his country’s domestic “Gambino Stars Africa” development academy. The program maintains a cooperative accord with Bayern and MLS club Los Angeles FC.

Bayern had a chance to scout Ndiaye directly during a pre-season friendly against Grasshopper Zürich. From a German perspective, Bayern’s 2-1 win over the Swiss outfit sticks in the mind due to the fact that Lennart Karl and Kusi-Asare scored the FCB goals.

Ndiaye – working on a trial with GCZ at the time – played the second half. The Swiss team pulled back a consolation goal during Ndiaye’s shift. Bayern may well be prepared to give the youngster an audition, but have revealed that a “minor injury” will initially keep Ndiaye sidelined for now.

Why are Bayern considering a Kusi-Asare recall?

According to the Münchener Tageszeitung, the fact that Kusi-Asare has only logged 23 minutes of action leaves the German giants pondering a different loan locale for the 18-year-old. Kusi-Asare’s highly complex loan arrangement withthe Cottagers took quite a bit of administrative muscle to complete and Bayern are upset that Fulham haven’t given the Swedish youth international a chance to establish himself.

Many Bundesliga clubs remain interested in Kusi-Asare and there are endless foreign clubs surely eager to give Swedish youth international a shot. It looks to be the case that – just as with keeper Daniel Peretz – Bayern will get the loan terminated early and move Kusi-Asare to a more promising developmental locale.
