Terrible news coming from the Säbener Straße. Bayern Munich have just confirmed that Serge Gnabry suffered a thigh injury in training, and is set to be out for an “extended period”. Typically, a torn adductor can take several weeks or even months to heal, meaning that the 30-year-old is likely to miss key knockout games versus Bayer Leverkusen and Paris Saint-Germain.
FC Bayern will be without Serge Gnabry for an extended period. The attacker has suffered a torn adductor in his right thigh.

This is a devastating blow to Vincent Kompany, who was likely counting on Gnabry for the upcoming games. Serge has discovered a second wind this season, having reinvented his game to function as an attacking midfielder behind the striker. He has done an amazing job supporting Harry Kane in the absence of Jamal Musiala, but now Bayern Munich will have to go without.
What options does Kompany have now? With Lennart Karl injured, only Jamal Musiala exists as a viable attacking midfield option for the coach. Of course, he could also go outside the box and try Harry Kane as a #10 behind Nicolas Jackson, though this is hardly the time to experiment. Games against Leverkusen and PSG are must-wins.
This injury comes at a terrible time for the club. Fans will hope that Gnabry makes a speedy recovery. His season may well be over, and this jeopardizes his participation in the World Cup.
