It's set to be a big summer for Eintracht Frankfurt's Nathaniel Brown, who has been heavily tied to a move to Bayern Munich in recent weeks. The move to the Bavarian giants is set to be in the region of €65 million, and will allow the German defender to elevate his game to the Champions League, as well as being on a bigger stage throughout the campaign, given the global presence that Bayern Munich has.

But this won't be the only reason for the coming weeks to be big for Brown, as he is a part of Germany's camp for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a competition in which the European giants are heavily favored. Given that Brown is only 22 years old, he hasn't been a part of Germany's national team picture for all that long, but given his performances in the last season, that was bound to change.

Brown's sensational World Cup debut​

It would be more than changed on Sunday afternoon, when Germany would start their World Cup campaign off with a 7-1 thrashing of Curacao, taking all three points from the match along with a six-goal lead in goal difference.

A huge part of this dismantling would come at the hands of the 22-year-old, who would find himself assisting Nico Schlotterbeck from a corner kick, while also putting the ball into the back of the net in the 68th minute, meaning that he had more than just a debut to celebrate.

This offensive output shouldn't be surprising given the numbers that Brown put up with Eintracht Frankfurt last season, recording ten goal involvements across his 42 appearances, with six of them being assists. This didn't mean that the 22-year-old defender didn't do his job out of possession, as he recorded 34 interceptions and won out on 80 tackles with the Bundesliga outfit.

All eyes will be on the 22-year-old and his national team to see if they can build on their performance in the tournament opener, when they take on the Ivory Coast on Saturday, June 20, with kick-off slated for 4:00 p.m. EST.
