Apr. 25—WHITEFISH — Reed Boyer, Max Barone and Ryan Conklin combined on a one-hitter, and Drew Queen drove in four runs to lead Whitefish over Troy 11-1 in five innings in North A baseball action Thursday.
An error and Chris Schwaderer's sacrifice fly put Whitefish (8-2 overall, 6-2 in lueag) up 2-0 in the first inning. The Bulldogs' big inning was the third; Avery Caton had an RBI base hit, Queen added a two-run single and Conklin capped the uprising with an RBI double for a 7-1 lead.
Queen added another two-run single in the top of the fifth. Finn Ryan's two-out double in the fifth brought in Conklin with Whitefish's 11th run and ended the game under the mercy rule.
Caton had two of the Bulldogs' seven hits.
Boyer threw the first two innings, allowing three walks and one (unearned) run while striking out five; Baroone pitched the next two innings, allowing the lone Troy hit — a Cody Orr single — and a walk. He fanned two.
Conklin struck out one in his inning of work. Troy fell to 3-7.
