The Section 9 baseball tournament brackets have been released.
The top seeds are Monroe-Woodbury (Class AAA), Cornwall (AA), Beacon (A), Chester (B), Pine Plains (C) and Eldred (D).
In 2025, the Section 9 champions were: No. 1 Pine Bush beat No. 2 Newburgh in Class AAA; No. 3 Wallkill beat No. 1 Cornwall in AA; No. 2 Marlboro beat No. 1 Beacon in A; No. 2 Chester beat No. 1 Highland in B; No. 1 Burke Catholic beat No. 2 Pine Plains in C; and, No. 1 Eldred was the lone entry in D.
In the state playoffs, Pine Bush lost to Ketcham 4-1 in the AAA quarterfinals; Wallkill lost to Horseheads 1-0 in the quarterfinals; Marlboro bowed to Sayville 5-0 in the A quarterfinals; Chester bowed to Solvay 6-4 in the B first round; Burke Catholic beat Bridgehamton 7-6 and Tuckahoe 2-0 before losing to Saratoga Catholic 5-2 in the C semifinals; and, Eldred lost to Smithtown Christian 12-0 in the D quarterfinals.
