FC Barcelona are keeping an eye on Rodri’s transfer situation this summer, and will attempt to sign him if a deal is not struck with Real Madrid, according to AS.
The report says that Real Madrid are still leading the race comfortably, and Barcelona are aware of that, but in a case a deal is not struck between the two parties, they will move for the Spaniard.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, know that Rodri prefers a move to Los Blancos than to their arch-rivals, making it difficult for Barcelona to sign him in any case.
Real Madrid must be wary of that, however, as the player would help both teams almost equally. Barcelona have also needed a quality six like Rodri for quite some time, and Real Madrid need to complete this deal as soon as possible to remove any possibility of that happening.
The expectation is for Real Madrid to sign the Manchester City midfielder, which is exactly why the club must complete it soon.
