Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has moved to Ajax on a one-year loan deal, the the two clubs said in separate statements on Tuesday.
"We have been working on bringing him here for quite some time, so we're very pleased that he has signed his contract and can now get started," Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff said.
Ter Stegen, 34, has a contract with Barcelona until 2028 but lost his place in the starting line-up last season after being plagued by injuries.
He went to Girona on loan in January but injured himself in the second match which also cost him playing for Germany at the World Cup last month.
"Now, at Ajax, he will be looking to rediscover the outstanding form he displayed so often during his time at Barça," Barcelona said.
Ter Stegen has made 423 appearances for the Spanish club, making him the 11th player with the most official appearances for Barcelona and the second-highest foreign with most played matches, behind only Leo Messi. He also won the Champions League in 2015.
