Barça looking to pip Real Madrid to Rodri
Barcelona could scupper Real Madrid's hopes of signing Rodri with the Catalan side said to be 'exploring' a deal for the midfielder.
The Manchester City man has had an eventful summer after pulling the strings for World Cup winners Spain.
The Madrid native had been linked for much of 2026 with a move back to La Liga to join José Mourinho's side. However, according to journalists Pol Ballús and Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, Barcelona are looking to pip their rivals to sign the 30-year-old.
Barça are said to have held talks with Rodri's representatives over a potential deal with player said to be open to reuniting with a large number of his international teammates.
After missing most of the 2024/25 campaign due to injury, Rodri featured 33 times for City last season before an outstanding campaign for his country this summer.
