Cowser and the Orioles are striding, winning 7 of their last 10 games.

Colton Cowser endured a season riddled of inconsistency in 2025. Multiple injuries plagued the potential for his bat to blossom into what has been expected of him as a former top-100 prospect.

The Orioles’ fifth overall pick in the 2021 draft, Cowser has emerged as a breakout bat for Baltimore in the past couple of weeks. He has contributed in multiple big ways, including multiple heroics when the team needed it most.

On May 24, Cowser swatted a three-run walk-off homer against the Detroit Tigers, pulling through down the team’s final out. He replicated those heroics the very next day, this time launching a two-run bomb to walk off the Tampa Bay Rays in the 13th inning.

Cowser didn’t stop there. Just days later, Cowser found himself in yet another high stakes situation in the ninth inning. This time facing the Toronto Blue Jays, Cowser ripped an RBI double on an 0-2 count into the right field corner to bring the Orioles within a run, setting the stage for Baltimore to complete a four-run ninth inning comeback.

A three-run home run on Sunday added to what has been a scorching hot stretch for Cowser. In his last 14 games, the 26-year-old has hit four homers and knocked in 11 RBI, while posting a .344 average at the plate.

Though Cowser has been very encouraged with his at-bats, he noted being very pleased with the quality of his at-bats. In the second inning of Baltimore’s Sunday game, Cowser fought an 0-2 pitch for a run-scoring groundout — a plate appearance he took pride in, noting he has improved his headspace in such pitchers’ counts.

"There's ebbs and flows to the season and I feel like I was on a negative flow there for a little bit,” Cowser said on Sunday, according to AJ Gersh of FOX Baltimore. “Being able to turn the page a little bit, keep working and have some success show up is more so a sign of the work that's being put in and also just the confidence in me to go out there and compete."

Cowser has been a huge piece of Baltimore’s recent hot stretch, one that has seen the team win seven of the last games, as they sit just one game back of a wild card spot.

At the plate, his mentality has taken a big step forward. He has begun to produce in the clutch, proving pivotal turning points for an Orioles team that badly needed one. Most importantly, Cowser is beginning to rediscover the form he has been working towards and anticipating.

"I’m not going to say the team needed it, but I think it’s one of those things that is encouraging and keeps morale up, keeps confidence up, and hopefully [we'll] continue to build momentum,” Cowser said, according to Jake Rill of MLB.com.
