No. 1 overall pickAzzi Fudd scored a career-high 24 points to fuel the Dallas Wings to a big road upset of the New York Liberty, 91-76, on Sunday, May 24.
The game was close at half before Fudd came out firing in the third quarter by dropping five 3-pointers and scoring 17 points, which is tied for the second-most points scored in a quarter by a rookie in WNBA history. It's easily the best offensive game of the young pro career of Fudd, who had yet to top 12 points in a game prior to Sunday.

Dallas spoiled the season debut of Sabrina Ionescu, who had missed the beginning of the year with a foot injury suffered in a preseason game. Ionescu scored 11 points but needed 15 shots to get there, and the Liberty looked like they will need time to gel as a healthy unit after adding Satou Sabally in the offseason. New York will have plenty of opportunities to do so by hosting three more games this week, starting with the Portland Fire on Monday, May 25.
Fudd and 2025 No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers had the kind of efficient shooting night that Dallas envisioned after selecting the duo in back-to-back years, as the former UConn teammates combined to score 48 points on 16-28 shooting from the floor.
The Wings have won three of their last four but have another big test on Thursday, May 28 when they host the defending champion Las Vegas Aces.
