Seattle Storm’s 97-85 win over the Washington Mystics last Sunday was more than just another early-season result.
Natisha Hiedeman led the way with 24 points, Flau’jae Johnson added 17, and Stefanie Dolson chipped in with an efficient 16-point mark.
It was Seattle’s second consecutive victory after a tough 1-4 start, and Awa Fam’s debut provided a longer-term reason to be encouraged.

According to ESPN, 19-year-old Fam became just the 14th teenager to play in a WNBA game and only the second to score 10 or more points on debut.
The Spanish center finished with 10 points and two rebounds in 20 minutes, giving Seattle another interior option at a time when the season needed a spark.
Fam joined the Storm after wrapping up her overseas commitments with Valencia, and her immediate impact was more than just a box-score highlight.
Seattle’s slow start had raised concerns, but back-to-back wins over the Connecticut Sun and Washington Mystics have helped shift the mood.
The question now is whether Fam can become part of a real turnaround, not just a memorable debut.
Her size, touch and composure already give the Storm a different look, and if Seattle’s recent form holds, her arrival might prove to be the turning point.
