Haas race engineer Laura Müller and Red Bull head of race strategy Hanna Schmitz will have Turn 6 of the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit dedicated to them at the season-opener Formula One Australian Grand Prix, organizers said in a statement on Monday.

The action is part of the "In Her Corner" initiative celebrating International Women's Day on March 8, when the race will take place.

"The 'In Her Corner' initiative promotes the importance of 'if you can see it, you can be it.' To be a part of this acknowledgement so early on in my F1 career is an honour," Müller said.

Schmitz added: "I was always curious about how things work and loved cars. For me, it has been an absolute honour to represent the team on the podium."

Müller made history as the first full-time female race engineer in F1 history, currently working with Esteban Ocon. Schmitz is highly regarded for strategic calls and has been a cornerstone of Red Bull's success in recent years.
