The No. 6 Auburn baseball (33-14, SEC 14-10) set to take to the diamond in Starkville, Mississippi against the No. 11 Mississippi State Bulldogs (37-12, 14-10) in game one of a three game SEC series.
Game one of the Tigers last SEC road series set to start Thursday against the Bulldogs. First pitch set to take place at 7 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcasted on ESPN 2. As Auburn will be facing another talented SEC roster. The pitchers facing off to kick start the series will be Auburn's sophomore left handed pitcher Jake Marciano (4-3, 2.26) against Mississippi State's sophomore left handed pitcher Tomas Valincius (7-2, 2.37).
Auburn are coming in to the series winning their last five conference series, while Mississippi State enters the series after a loss to Texas on the road. Though the Bulldogs swept LSU. The Tigers and Bulldogs sit next to each in SEC standings with the Tigers at No. 4 and the Bulldogs at No. 5. The bats of Auburn will be put to the test against Valincius, who has been one of the best pitchers in the conference this year. He has 92 strikekouts in 68.1 innings pitched.
