The No. 12 Auburn Tigers gained momentum in their SEC series with Kentucky on Friday by taking down the Wildcats, 12-5, at Plainsman Park. Will the Tigers find more success at the plate on Saturday?
Auburn logged 15 hits in Friday's win over Kentucky, with five players recording multiple hits. The Tigers scored 12 runs on 15 hits without hitting a home run, and by chasing Kentucky starting pitcher Jaxon Jelkin after two innings and giving him his first loss of the 2026 season. Auburn's pitching complemented the bats as Andreas Alvarez struck out five batters over six innings, and the relief staff, led by LJ Cormier, struck out four batters and allowed three runs over the final three innings.
Auburn will aim to clinch its series with Kentucky behind another strong effort at the plate and a quality performance from starting pitcher Jake Marciano. Marciano enters the game with a 3-1 record, an ERA of 1.29, and 64 strikeouts. He will battle Kentucky's Nate Harris on Saturday, who is 4-2 with a 5.40 ERA.
