AUBURN — Just two days removed from Auburn football's A-Day and spring practice's end, the program's second transfer portal departure announced his intentions Monday.
It puts the Tigers in a two-man deficit at safety.
Sophomore CJ Johnson will be portaling, according to a report from On3's Hayes Fawcett. Johnson reposted the report to his personal social media accounts on Instagram and X, the platform formerly known at Twitter, confirming the news.
Johnson is the second Tigers to announce a transfer portal entry, along with fellow safety Terrance Love. Neither will be able to officially enter the portal until the window opens Wednesday. During the winter portal window, Johnson entered the portal but later returned to the program.

Like Love, Johnson's playing time was scant in two seasons at Auburn. He never saw the field during his two years on the Plains. Johnson was a consensus three-star recruit out of high school, committing to the Tigers' 2023 class on Jan. 8, 2023. He was the fifth-lowest-rated signee in that class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Of those five lowest-rated signees, only one, offensive lineman Bradyn Joiner, remains with the program.
