Auburn football remains high on the radar of a top-35 EDGE rusher from New Jersey as commitment day draws closer.

Jackson Vaughn, a three-star 2027 EDGE from Oradell, New Jersey, recently reclassified from the 2028 class and is nearing a decision. Auburn, along with Notre Dame, Texas, Alabama, Cal, and Miami remain the top programs to watch in Vaughn's recruitment as he closes in on pledging his commitment.

In a recent interview with Chad Simmons of Rivals, Vaughn says that he is looking for a "best fit" program in terms of scheme and culture. He feels that Auburn fits the mold for what he is looking for, and feels that he could schematically perform well at the JACK linebacker position. However, Notre Dame is the frontrunner for Vaughn with a 94.1% forecast from Rivals.

Vaughn is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound EDGE rusher from Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey. He is the No. 33 EDGE rusher in the 2027 cycle according to Rivals, and is the No. 4 player from New Jersey in the class. In two seasons at Bergen Catholic, he has logged 56 tackles, with 22.5 tackles for loss.
