As announced by the organization Wednesday morning, the Atlanta Braves have promoted former Alabama baseball shortstop Jim Jarvis to make his MLB debut.

Acquired via trade from the Detroit Tigers last season, Jarvis is in the midst of an impressive 2026 campaign where he has appeared in 33 games with Atlanta's Triple-A affiliate, the Gwinnett Stripers. Jarvis is currently batting for a .305 average with four home runs, 20 RBI, and 15 stolen bases, while also owning an .864 OPS.

A former 11th round pick from the 2023 MLB draft out of Alabama, Jarvis spent four seasons in Tuscaloosa with the Crimson Tide, starting 193-of-196 games played at shortstop from 2020-23. At Alabama, Jarvis slashed .262/.373/.366 10 home runs, 75 RBI, and 25 stolen bases.

Jarvis now joins a Braves team that leads the MLB with a 26-11 overall record, and has a 9.5 game lead atop the NL East. The Braves play this afternoon in Seattle against the Mariners, with first pitch set for 3:10 p.m. CT.

The #Braves today selected INF Jim Jarvis to the major league roster and designated OF José Azócar for assignment.
