We need to go into next year with every possible adavantage. To me, I now conclude this team was built by a coach that that the game had passed by with blueprints that are ten years out of code and a GM who was totally incompetent and had no vision whatsoever. We suck on every possible level. So much that even the young talent we have on this team, and we have less of that that previously believed, that which we have isn't being developed, its being taught consistent losing and futility. Basically being ground down to nothing.
We need to go into next year with the number one pick. Maybe it is the worst year for a number one pick ever. I don't care. It gives us the ability to bring in a new regime with a whole offseason to think about who they want or how they could possibly make a franchise changing trade, maybe something like Mitch laid out in that great thread yesterday. We need to have the new regime come into a situation where the Bids dont sit them down and say "we are convinced there is so much talent that just needs coahed up or some nonsensical garbage, the way they did when DG came in. The approach needs to be, here it is, you will be starting at zero, we need a comprehensive approach to build from the ground up. For me that number one pick is a great way to start. The new regime needs to have massive control and every possible advantage to build from the ground up. No frickin nonsense about coaching up the offensive line with some new system or some O-line guru or anything else.
No player should even be untouchable as far as a trade is concerned. We need to go at it from the position of realizing and admitting the plan Rod Graves and later DG have tried to implement for the past five years acheived, undisputably, the worst team in football. We need to be able to give every and any possible advantage to the next team. Its the only way from here in my opinion.
