I don’t think it was pride. I think it was the fact that they just rammed it down MSU’s throat the entire way down the field and they just got too locked into its success. The endzone is the shortest field possible. By definition it is going to be the most congested. To not try something else was more stupidity than stubbornness imo. Same with the leaving cbs on an island. It wasn’t pride or hubris, it was stupidity. To see that on both sides of the ball in crucial situations is concerning.
The guys on 98.7 called it "macho ball" this morning. Which is how I see it as well. Not that it really matters anymore. It happened, it sucked. We will see if they can learn from their mistakes.

The Cow Bells have to go though! Good luck the rest of the way.
I can certainly see them as a distraction/nuisance. But it’s a tradition I don’t want to give up with lots of history. Basically, we were an ag school, the field was nearly a cow pasture, and apparently a Jersey cow wandered on the field and brought success during a one of the games, hence cowbells started being brought to games by students (originally). But I can certainly see them being somewhat unfair with the number of people in attendance now. I’d get hammered for mentioning it, but they should probably limit the number of cowbells allowed. Maybe student section only or something.

Mad respect for your fans. They seemed awesome.
Thank you, I’m really glad to hear that. I’ve heard nothing but positive things about your fans (as well as “the other Arizona” fans - although you guys are probably rivals and hate them). Is that a heated rivalry? For reference, it’s pretty common to hear a State guy in the stands scream “Go to hell Ole Miss” after the national anthem at a game that doesn’t even involve Ole Miss.

Wish you would have been around before the game…or did I somehow miss you? Would have been great to get a sense of the Bulldogs.

I think ASU fans have the sense that the team got royally chewed out at halftime and came out looking like a completely different team. What happened with you guys? I was surprised ASU was able to move the ball the way they did after how bad they looked

Not sure this ASU team merited a storming of the field.

I think it was the fact that y’all were ranked coupled with the fact that we thought you guys had probably won.

That and the fact that we’ve tied our win total from last year already lol. I’m glad we did it. Showed the team we’re behind them for sure. Kinda silly, but we were ready to celebrate…anything positive. I figure 7 and 5 is our ceiling this year, so we probably won’t be doing it again for a minute.

Seemed like to me your QB quit trying to throw it so much after halftime and you guys just determined to run our asses over instead lol. Pretty sure we are down a guy on defense, but I’m not sure when he went out of the game or how much that affected it.

As for our offense in the second half, our offense is streaky. I saw the same thing in the first half of our first game - offense stalled out for about an entire quarter. Reminiscent of last year and probably going to be a problem. We can’t seem to run the ball successfully- and I think we need to do something other than trying to run it up the middle. Maybe go around the end or something? But I’m not a football coach.

I didn’t go to that game, unfortunately. I should have, but honestly, I figured we’d lose and I grilled steaks and watched it at da house instead. I did yell at the TV a lot if that counts.

Looks like Whitson (the MSU defensive guy who was doing the digging with a shovel motion) went out of the game when it was 17 to 0. I didn’t notice that during the game.

I don’t mind it being a home field advantage, but it was mighty annoying hearing it on the broadcast.

They are playing A&M tough right now
Yes, they did in the first half but A&M just wore them down. But the very tough OT loss to Tennessee and outplaying the Aggies for a quarter and a half makes that a better looking loss. It will help ASU in the polls this week.
