AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (42-47) lost 6-4 (BOX SCORE)


Weiss started for Sugar Land but struggled allowing 4 runs over 4 innings. The offense got on the board in the first inning scoring 3 runs on a Brooks walk, Spence hit by pitch and Diaz sac fly. Sugar Land got another run in the 2nd inning on a Biggio solo home run. McLoughlin relieved Weiss and allowed 2 runs as the Isotopes took the lead. The offense was unable to score again as Sugar Land fell 6-4.

Note: Biggio has a .880 OPS this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (37-46) lost 5-2 (BOX SCORE)


The Hooks got on the board in the first inning on a Bush solo home run. Mancini started for the Hooks and allowed 2 runs over 3 innings with 5 strikeouts. After four scoreless innings from the pen, Encarnacion tied the game with a solo home run in the 7th. David came on for the 8th but allowed 3 runs as Frisco took the lead. The offense was unable to rally as the Hooks fell 5-2.

Note: Encarnacion has 36 stolen bases this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (29-54) won 5-4 (BOX SCORE)


Oakes started for Asheville but struggled allowing 3 runs over 3 innings. He was relieved by Rodriguez who allowed 1 run over 3 innings of work. Call put Asheville on the board in the 4th inning on a 2 run home run. In the 5th, Call connected on another 2 run home run to tie it. In the 7th, Asheville took the lead on a Moss sac fly. The pen was solid getting scoreless outings from Frias and Langford as they closed out the 5-4 win.

Note: Moss is hitting .402 in Asheville.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (42-41) won 11-1 (BOX SCORE)


The Woodpeckers got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Salas sac fly. Potter started for the Woodpeckers and pitched well striking out 7 over 4.2 innings allowing just 1 run. The Woodpeckers rallied in the 6th inning scoring 7 runs on a Flores 3 run home run, Perez 2 run single, Ramirez RBI single and Neyens RBI double. They got another run in the 8th on an Alvarez RBI double. In the 9th, Ramirez added a 2 run home run to extend the lead. Shoemaker closed the game out tossing 4 no-hit innings with 6 strikeouts.

Note: Potter has a 2.19 ERA this season.
