Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña doubled and reached base three times during his rehab assignment with the Hooks on Tuesday, May 12, in a game against the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Whataburger Field.
Peña finished 1-for-2 with two walks before leaving the game in the sixth inning after being hit by a pitch. Pena was also upended on a defensive play in the infield, though he appeared to escape uninjured.
Peña is currently rehabbing a Grade 1 right hamstring strain that has sidelined him since April 13.
Janek joins Hooks: From Gregory-Portland to the Hooks: Walker Janek returns home for 2026 season
Astros closer Josh Hader and outfielder Jake Meyers were also rehabbing with the Hooks on Tuesday.
Hader, who is currently on the 60-day injured list with left biceps tendinitis, tossed a scoreless inning in relief, allowing one hit and striking out one.
Meyers, who suffered a Grade 2 right oblique strain April 8, went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
The Sod Poodles won, 2-0.
